# Get an API key

> What a key is for, what to send us, and what you can do before you have one.

## Before you have a key

Three of the four routes work without one, so you can build most of an integration first:

* `GET /config` — chain, order protocol address, tokens.
* `GET /levels` — the pairs quoted now, with sizes and prices.
* `GET /orders/{hash}` — fill status.

Only `GET /quote` needs a key.

## Request one

Write to [hello@aile.tech](mailto:hello@aile.tech) with:

* your company and product, and what the FX leg does in it;
* the pairs and the volumes and ticket sizes you expect;
* how you fill: from end users' wallets, or from your own contract or relayer (relayer pipelines can
  receive 60-second quotes);
* a technical contact.

Keys are issued after a short business onboarding. Each key has its own request budget and every quote
it takes is attributed to it.

## Keep it on your backend

Send the key as `Authorization: Bearer <key>`. Never ship it in a client; the `taker` in your quote
requests is the user's address, the key is yours. If a key leaks, write to us and we rotate it.
