No account, no onboarding to trade

Aile is a non-custodial protocol. There is no deposit, no balance held for you and no withdrawal. A swap is one atomic transaction between the taker’s wallet and a market maker’s wallet on a public contract. Because Aile never holds customer funds and never acts as the counterparty, trading on the venue requires:
  • no account or sign-up;
  • no identity documents from end users (no KYC);
  • no licence from Aile’s side.
Whether your product needs a licence or registration for what it does with your users’ funds depends on your activity and jurisdiction, and is for you and your counsel. Aile cannot answer that for you, and nothing here is legal advice.

Wallet screening

Every GET /quote screens the taker address against sanctions lists before a quote is signed. An address that may not be quoted receives 403 address-refused; while the check cannot run, the route answers 503 screening-unavailable. Screening is on the wallet address only; no documents are collected.

API keys

GET /quote needs an API key. Aile issues keys to companies after a short business onboarding, so that every quote is attributed to a known integrator and has its own request budget. The key does not change what happens on chain; the swap stays between the taker’s wallet and the maker’s. See Get an API key.

What Aile promises, and what it does not

Aile promises two things:
  1. Every quote is a signed firm quote. It executes at the signed amounts or the transaction reverts. No last look, no re-pricing, no partial delivery.
  2. Every quote and fill is published. Fills are on chain; quotes carry the reference mid they were priced from.
Aile does not promise rates, depth or availability. It is a venue, not a dealer: it owns no inventory and sets no prices, so it has nothing to promise about tomorrow’s market. The capacity that exists right now is in every answer as maxFirmSize. Integrators that need dedicated capacity on a corridor arrange it with the market makers; see Liquidity and capacity.

Terms of service

Use of the API and the web app is under click-through terms of service: best effort, no warranty. The current terms are linked from the web app.

Market makers

Firms that quote on Aile are independent trading firms trading their own funds. They have no clients on the venue and no obligation to quote; they hold the inventory, carry the risk and set their prices. Aile has no access to their keys or wallets.

Staging

The staging gateway documented here trades real assets on Base mainnet under small per-ticket and daily limits (GET /config → limits). It is for integration testing; treat the funds you use as real.
