Capacity is a number you read, not a promise
Aile owns no inventory. Independent market makers quote from what they hold, and the API tells you, at every step, how much that is:GET /levels→maxFirmSizeper direction: the largest size you can get a firm quote for right now, in both tokens, with the price after the spread.GET /quote→maxFirmSizeagain, at the rate you were just quoted.- A request above it answers
400 over-size, with the maximum in the detail.
Reading the levels
makersis how many makers quote this direction now.maxFirmSizeis bounded by the maker’s wallet balance for the bought token, its allowance to the order protocol, the largest swap its book allows, and quotes it is currently holding for other takers. It moves as fills happen and as the maker rebalances.reasonon a direction that is not quoted tells you whether it is a funding question (maker-underfunded,maker-allowance), a pricing one (no-price) or a venue one (kill-switch).
Sizing your product
Capacity on a corridor is a function of the makers’ inventory and how fast they rebalance it through issuer mint-and-redeem rails and off-chain FX desks. PollGET /levels over a few days at the hours
that matter to you: the maxFirmSize series per direction is the capacity your product can count on
today, and the basis for a conversation about more.
